CYC Forest Edge

Amazing experience! Loved being here! Special shoutout to Josh, Jack, Brit and Jo! Literal legends! The food was so good as well! Loved the diversity and how fresh it was. This is a little camp nestled along the mountains and the La Trobe River; The peace, quiet and the absolute serenity is just overwhelmingly beautiful! Loved it I recommend 10/10

We love bringing our Group to Forest Edge and have been impressed by the ongoing improvements to the camp over the years 🥰💯🥳🎉👌👍👍 The staff are always fantastic, friendly and go out of their way to give each of us the best experience possible 🥰🥳🎉👌👍👍 Forest Edge is gorgeous and sits right on the edge of the State Forest along the lovely river 😎👌👍👍 We really enjoyed the amazing 60m Waterslide and the River Sledding along with the High Ropes Adventure Challenge Course and the 250m Twin Flying Fox🥰🥳🎉👌👍👍 There's always so much to do and such a beautiful camp to enjoy for all of our Group 🥰🥳🎉👌👍👍 The Dining Room is a great place to cool off on a hot day and the food is delicious 😋. The Meeting Room upstairs is very modern with a Fantastic View over the lovely valley 🥰. We're looking forward to our next camp here at Forest Edge and excited to see what they add next 🤔🥰🥳🎉👌👍👍

A great well maintained campsite (even though called campsite, note they are actually cabin or room type accommodation typically for school camps or groups, not tents) with friendly and competent staff. Would have been a 5 star rating had it not been for the kitchen. The rooms are clean and provided with split system air conditioning. Many of the rooms are provided with ensuite (attached bathrooms and toilets). Rooms are well laid out and not too spaced out. Some rooms have disability access. Lovely dinning room/ games /activity room with a lot of character (was undergoing some renovation/ repairs). A beautiful campfire site with a fire pit and seating on fallen trees arranged in a wide circle. The grounds were very well maintained and lovely tall trees in the forest around the edges of the grounds and the river. So very aptly name “Forest Edge”. There was a fast flowing stream bubbling along through the grounds and emptied into a river flowing along the edge of the property. (It was early December however we has some decent rains in the weeks earlier.) Great activities with, I am told, the second longest flying fox (zip line for some of you.). It had up to date safety gear and operating procedures. There is a long inflatable water slide down the hill into the river, there are lovely walks, rafting and rowing activities, an archery range. Aggressive flies (horsefly?) werer a bit annoying though. Staff very accommodating, competent and safety conscious and equipment looked well maintained. Re the kitchen it was fine and spacious but which was a basic commercial kitchen, with 2 freestanding ovens and gas range top burners. Had a commercial dishwasher (but no spray hose to rinse dishes) and without labour saving aids like combi ovens. Has good outdoor gas BBQ facilities. Also has a decent size cool room and a chest freezer. Also has food warmer and decent size electrically heated commercial Bain Marie . So perfectly OK if you are doing simple meals like sausages or bbq chops or have done lot of prep at home and just doing heat, toss and serve. (I suppose you can guess I was in charge of some of the meals, and was mistakenly under the impression it was a full service commercial camp kitchen. I understand they have one of those but it’s for use only by the staff when they are catering). Phone reception can be a bit patchy, but they have Wifi. So on the whole great place for a family camp or for community groups.

We had a camp for about 33 people at Forest Edge. Happy to recommend. The facilities including the Kitchen, Amenities hall were second to none. Accommodation was also comfortable. Ross was very helpful, he went out of the way to make sure our requirements were fulfilled. Wendy was amazing to coordinate and made sure everything went well. Amazing people and Amazing place.
